I based my third Victorian building on the Ezekiel B. Zimmerman Octagon House in Ohio. At one time there were more than 2000 Octagon Houses in the United States, but according to one site I found online, there are only around 100 remaining. It appears that the Ezekiel B. Zimmerman Octagon House is the only one with a gabled roof.
Check out my finished examples for inspiration. I hope you find this building fun to make.
